Off the Grid Outfitters is a Husband and Wife Team with decades of horse experience and past generations with horses.
They are Long time members of the Society-of Backcountry Horsemen of BC and are certified in first aid.
Off the Grid Outfitters has an extensive Trail system to ride and explore.
As well they have Built and maintained serveral different trails throughout the mountain side through the skeena region. There are endless Kilometres of trails to access right from their barn door.
There are many different levels of Trail to ride.
Starting from beginner to black diamond type (for those with an advanced skill set.)
Prior to the trip you will be assessed in the riding arena. Based on your riding performance and experience we will decide which trails are best for you.
Throughout the trail systems there are multiply view & Stop points, So the majority of the rides are done at a steady walking pace. So everyone can enjoy their ride and the beautiful scenery.
Here at PTFADVENTURES & Off The Grid Outfitters We believe in safety first.
Therefore prior to every trip we have an Orientation and Team Building session with you (the rider) and your horse in a safe riding environment.
During this Orientation and rider assessment, you will be trained and ride throughout an obstacle course and ride the Cowboy Challenge.
All Riders must complete this prior to going out on the trail.
During the Orientation you will learn everything from ground up.
How to catch, groom, tack up your horse prior to mounting up.
All our horses are Draft Crosses especially bred for this type of rugged trail riding.
They are all solid, dependable, easy going & sound with 100 ' s of hours of western style riding on the Trails throughout the Pacific North West.
We offer Day trail trips or we can Custom build a Packing Adventure to suit your preferences.
Overnights Trips are a minimum of 2 days & 1 night stay.
Maximum 4 Persons per trip.
All Riders must be in good physical condition. If you has any previous injuries or allergies, it must be noted prior to your booking.
We use only High Quality Gear for our horses, and for our riders for everyone's comfort and safety.
Each Riding horse is outfitted with Shoes, a Billy Cook quality Trail saddle, horn bags
and saddle bags for you to stow away your lunch and extra gear.
As well all our pack horses have quality pack gear.
We supply for you quality camp gear, tents, first aid kits and all meals and basic beverages are included.
We provide and recommend the use of riding helmet while you ride with Off the Grid Outfitters.
Helmets are mandatory for those under the age of 19.
Required Gear (what we expect you to bring)
- Seasonal clothes & Layers (Jeans for riding)
- Rain Gear
- Sunglasses & Hat
- Hiker boot with heel or riding boots (no runners or sandals)
- Sleeping Bag & Pillow
- Personal Toiletries
- Camera or Binoculars
On all rides you can expect to have wildlife viewing opportunities , historical points of interest, panning for gold, plant and vegetation identification, scenic viewpoints , cowboy coffee and a hot lunch over an open fire (weather conditions permitting) alternate lunch supplied in event of extreme weather conditions.
